No Secret About Untold's Ability

It was a running double for Lyndhurst’s boys on Saturday September 17 with the race after Carry Me Bluey’s victory taken out in determined fashion by tough nine-year-old son of Sequalo Secrets Untold.

Catching the eye with a game Eagle Farm second at his previous outing, the Phillip Cox trained gelding was strongly fancied in the market and was always travelling like the winner.

Working forward from the outside gate with Larry Cassidy aboard, Secrets Untold lost his position at the 1000m, firstly getting back to fifth and then further back again. But he really got warmed up in the straight, charging home and getting to his rivals at the 100m before drawing clear.

As the winner of 13 races and just short of $500,000, Secrets Untold has proven a great bargain for the Cox stable – purchased for just $22,000 at the 2004 Magic Millions.

Bred by Sandra Pegler, he is a son of the very good broodmare Untold who paid a return visit to Sequalo last spring. A half sister by Balmerino to the stakes winner Station Mistress (in turn dam of the four times Listed winner Play Station), she is also dam of the multiple city winner Dead Cat Bounce.
