Hidden Dragon looks to have another smart one in the shape of Silk Traders - game winner at Doomben on Wednesday,
Having only his second start, the Kelso Wood trained three-year-old had good support in the betting, having run a great race at debut - racing wide but catching the eye with a Doomben second on June 20.
Always travelling well just off the leaders, Silk Traders found plenty in the run home - becoming Hidden Dragon's 14th winner since the start of June.
Bred by Fraternity Thoroughbreds and sold at the 2010 Brisbane Bloodstock Bonus Yearling Sale for $30,000, Silk Traders is the second Hidden Dragon winner for the unraced Luskin Star mare La Cauchemard - also dam of the Singapore winner American Tycoon.
Also dam of a still to be named Hidden Dragon two-year-old, La Cauchemard is a full sister to the stakes winner Sweet Dream Lady, grandam of the stakes winner Queen Carey and the VRC Derby runner up Zarek.
Bred on the highly successful Danehill/Kaoru Star cross, Silk Traders is a descendant of the great matriarch Chelandry and his fourth dam is the VRC Oaks heroine Innesfell.
Other recent winners for Hidden Dragon include Slysera, Meribel Magic (at debut), Sistabella, Molly's Way (by three lengths), La Rive Droit, Secret Scene, Secret Kiss (with ease at Toowoomba debut), Sun Warrior (two in a row), Annette's Pumpkin (bolting in by nearly seven lengths), Mafia Princess (two in a row at the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast) and Penski Material (by 2.8 lengths).
