Talented speedster Danzig Rocket was back to his best at Kranji on Friday night, the son of Hidden Dragon putting on a pacy display to outspeed his rivals in a 1000m dash.
Always travelling well for seven times champion Malaysia jockey Azhar Ismail, the Dr Yeoh trained four-year-old hugged the rails into the straight - kicking clear a long way from home; strong right to the line.
"I was able to sit behind the pace and when I got a clear run on the rails he responded very well for a very nice win," Ismail said.
“He’s a good horse," Dr Yeoh added.
“From the wide draw, I told Azhar to just kick him forward and not to look back."
The second Hidden Dragon winner this week on the competitive Asian circuit (Dragimova saluting at Shatin), Danzig Rocket is out of the three times winning Danzig Connection mare Danzig's Strike.
Hailing from the family of stakes winners Dazzling Flyer and French Flute, Danzig's Strike sadly passed away two years ago - her final foal a Hidden Dragon yearling colt.
