Always reliable, the consistent HIDDEN DRAGON has enjoyed an outstanding weekend with no less than six impressive winners headline by a gutsy victory by Steel Dragon in the Lightning Handicap at Townsville.

Recording the eighth win of his 29 start career and increasing his prize money tally to an impressive $367,600, Steel Dragon was a part of an amazing week for his trainer Olivia Cairns who had a good excuse not to be on track - having given birth to a baby boy the day before!

Raced by Granham Nicolls and Neville Walsh, Steel Dragon had been below his best at previous outings - his campaign hindered by severe stomach ulcers which fortunately responded well to treatment.

Meanwhile three-year-old Just Betty won by nearly three lengths at the Gold Coast - her second success from only four starts for the Darren Bell stable. A home-bred for the Bidewell family, she is a full sister to the winner Hidden Star out of a half sister to the multiple city winner Junk In The Trunk.

Four-year-old Dragons Bletch recorded his fourth win when proving half a length too strong for his rivals in a Class 5 1000m event at Townsville. A $32,000 yearling who was pin-hooked and re-sold for $62,000, he is a full brother to the winner Big Bear Chase from the family of Melbourne Cup hero Viewed.

Consistent filly Sistabella was in winning form at Roma in late June and again at Longreach on Saturday. A bargain $9000 purchase, she is a half sister to six winners including Sequalo's three times winner Sistagirl and a full sister to Spiritofthedragon who also won on Saturday - recording her second victory when successful at Wondai. Bred by Lyndhurst, in-form the duo are also half siblings to the Adelaide Magic Milions winner Dress Code and their dam's full brother is current for sale...

Hidden Dragon's good form continued on Sunday with two-year-old Saddleback saluting in impressive fashion at his Sunshine Coast debut. Bred by Palm View Stud and purchased by Alan Acton for $22,000 at the Rockhampton Capricornia Yearling Sale, he is out of the winning Canny Lad mare Rubies And Gold, a half sister to the US stakes winner Silver Jet.

Hidden Dragon stands for $11,000 inc GST and breeders are reminded to take advantage of the '2 for 1 deal' - send one mare who is a) stakes performed, b) a stakes producer or c) amultiple city winner - and receive a second nomination!

Hidden Dragon's great haul was just part of a successful weekend for Lyndhurst stallions, other winners including Sequillian (a three-year-old Sequalo filly who has won her last two at Ipswich by wide margins), Carry Larry's Rose (a three-year-old son of the late Carry The Flag who recorded his second win at Toowoomba), Trail Boss (a consistent son of Sequalo whose Sunshine Coast victory was his seventh success from 19 starts) and Rocklea Raider (a four-year-old by the late Canadian Silver who really looked the goods taking out his maiden by over seven lengths at the Sunshine Coast).
