A prolific provincial winner, the tough and talented I’llbetricked brought his country form to town on Wednesday, the David Lawlor trained five-year-old racing away to an easy victory in the 1630m Sky Racing Handicap.

Well fancied having caught the eye when a fast-finishing second at his previous start at Eagle Farm, the son of Hidden Dragon recorded the eighth victory of his 45 start career.

Bred by Lyndhurst Stud, I’llbetricked has proven quite the bargain for connections - Sherrie Lawlor payinng just $14,000 at the 2009 Magic Millions QTIS 600 Yearling Sale.

A stakes placed winner of over $120,000, I’llbetricked is out of the two times winning Twig Moss mare Hallelujah, also dam of the Listed winner Domine.

This is a strong Australian family, one whose members also include the stakes winners Bordeaux, Hockney, Platelet, Muddy Water and Sun Duke.
